SEATTLE - Charitable foundations and nonprofit organizations areseeing signs of an economic recovery, with double-digit returns ontheir investments last year, but an organization that studiescharities says there are indications nonprofits still face toughtimes. Demand for services continues to rise, government contractsare decreasing, donations were down at many nonprofits during thepast two years, and some organizations took out loans to meet theircommitments in 2009.
