WA: Racism conference attracts more than 100 guest speakers
A three-day symposium called Talking Race and Prejudice at Perth's Murdoch University
has attracted more than 100 national and international speakers.
The symposium will address issues of asylum seekers, Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD's refusal
to apologise to the Stolen Generation, and the rights of access to IVF treatment for lesbians.
Symposium convenor MARK RAPLEY says the aim of the event is to come up with fresh practical
ideas to deal with race and prejudice problems.
