NSW:NSW police union calls for greater powers
SYDNEY, Jan 16 AAP - Drive-by shootings in Sydney could be reduced if police were given
greater powers to confiscate the unexplained wealth of criminal gangs, the police union
says.
The Police Association of NSW (PANSW) has called on the state government to give police
powers under unexplained wealth legislation. At present only the NSW Crime Commission
has the authority to apply the legislation.
